
Little Millet Urundai/ Modhak / Kozhukattai

Heat peanut oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add the following ingredients one by one:
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
- 2-3 green chilies, slit and chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon gram dal
- 1/2 teaspoon urad dal
Sauté the mixture briefly. If desired, add chopped onion and continue sautéing. Next, add 1/2 cup of millet (washed and soaked for at least 2 hours) along with 1/3 cup of washed moong dal. Season with salt and mix well.
Pour water in a 1:2 ratio or slightly more (e.g., for 1 cup of millet, use 2 cups of water). Allow the mixture to simmer and cook on low heat until done.
Once cooled, shape the mixture into small balls and steam them in an idli cooker for 5 minutes.
